1st and 2nd Degree Ceremony

We had a very successful degree ceremony with over 50 in attendance. There were five 1st/2nd degree candidates, and 17 additional 2nd degree candidates.

Veterans Day Flag Raising

As you are aware each year we buy a new flag and present it to the school on Veterans Day. The first picture is of Fred Bauer and his 2 sons, Scott (retired Army) and Paul, all 3 are Fourth Degree SMOY Knights. The second picture is of all the Knights who took part in the ceremony except yours truly who was taking the pictures. From left to right Walker Thorne, Chris Chris Chalifoux, Fred Bauer, Tony Conte, Paul Bauer, Scott Bauer, Garrick Horton and Ray O’Donnell.The SMOY Scouts and several grades are excused from class to take part in the ceremony. There is music and speeches from school administrators and student leaders after which the old flag is burned showing respect and honor to the flag of our country. The July Family Movie Night was a blast! We had quite the crowd show up to watch Frozen and enjoy a fun evening. We even had a surprise visit from Bishop Joseph Binzer who joined in on the festivities.

The golf outing was a great success! Denny Thompson and his foursome from Milford came in first place with an astounding 15 under par. Jerry Heard and his foursome and Jerry Rotella’s foursome were second and third.

Father Tom Wray's Ordination

The Knights were proud to take part in the ordination of Tom Wray into the priesthood. We had 4th Degree Knights serving in the Color Guard and many Knights helping at the reception. Congratulations Fr. Tom!

Funds for the Future Donation

The Knights have donated the following items to the Funds for the Future silent auction. It is called the patio collection and includes a fire pit, St. Francis bird bath, hanging bird feeder, two hanging candle lanterns, two solar garden flowers, a solar garden cross, vase, angel statue, and two citronella candles.

Friday’s Fish Fry went well. Setup and 1st shift was Thorne, Klaber, Owens and Toelke. I left early, but Chalifoux, Wood, Farmer, Faulhaber and Wey showed up to help serve and shut things down.
