The “flagship” charity of the Knights of Columbus has long been our support for our citizens with developmental disabilities. In recent years, the Knights of Columbus has been recognized as a major corporate sponsor to the International Special Olympics with many councils sponsoring local events.
Our primary fundraiser for assisting those with developmental disabilities is our annual Measure Up Campaign. This fundraising effort raises approximately $400,000 for statewide and local caring agencies that sponsor a variety of training and support programs. The State Council retains 10% of the funds raised by each council to support state programs. 90% of the collected funds are then returned to each council to support the local programs of council choice. The SMOY Council gives it's proceeds to SMOY School for Special Education purposes.
